Govt's response:
- 1 st totally ignore the problem, in fact benefit from it.
- Once HUUUGE cry is raised by opposition+media....just dismiss the person.
- Then nothing ..... no money recovered, no Jail.
- Supreme court is hampered by impotent CBI, in-efficent systems Etc.
- This seriously raises other concern: "Lack of fear of punishment"
If we know we cant be punished for out misdeeds, then we will loose any "inhibitions"...Think what u can do if you know police cant touch u.
More and more people become corrupt, society get's destroyed from within and nation collapses ...not soon but in next 40-50 years [ you can see example of many African and Arab countries]
- For any society, the concept of "punishment" is CORNER-stone. Without it, their can be no order or civilization.
- Balances in Lokpal are simple & elegant
...members selected by collegium---the collegium members itself are people a TOP of their fields, the winners, the cream of society (unlike career criminals and uneducated people in parliament)
They in turn selected like minded people of excellent credentials.
These people (Lokpal) themselves are open to great public scrutiny.
People in Lokpal can be monitored by intelligence agencies (RAW) for "COMPLETE" list of assets & transactions. A Lokpal member should not be able to buy a mobile phone without RAW knowing its potential source of income (this is very simple using computers)
- Punishment for corruption by LOKpal itself - DEATH

- Excellent people select "excellent Lokpal members"
- Lokpal is paid handsomely (2 lacks/month) and all their (whole family) financial transactions/assets are 100% tracked...(easy due to computers).
- Lokpal will know that even if he takes a bribe....their is no way to spend it!!
All his assets are completely tracked for LIFE and punishment is VERRRY severe. This will make HUGE incentive to act honestly. He has 100's of enemies who will pounce on him and he will act Honestly.
